Duffy (Quilt Factory)

Jaramana – Damascus countryside – 2017

The “Duffy” project is one of the “Restoring Livelihoods and Early Recovery” projects implemented by the St.Ephrem Patriarchal Development Committee in Jaramana in the Rural of Damascus, which includes quilts, blankets and a number of wool products workshops and aims to create job opportunities for women with families and help them to secure basic needs.

In 2018, the quarry factory, which in turn was producing (Dacron Quilting), was now developed to produce silicon granules and sponge medical mattresses, by supporting the laboratory with new and modern machines and equipment and raw materials for production.

By expanding this project, new job opportunities were secured: 34 women, 2 men and 2 people with special needs.
