The opening of the Duffy project

The “Duffy” project is a development project implemented by St.Ephrem Patriarchal Development Committee in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program and with the Church of Mar Yaqoub Al-Baradei. The project aims to employ 65 workers in two workshops, one for the production of quilts, and the other for knitting wool.

This project falls under the EPDC early recovery and restoration of livelihoods programs, with the aim of creating job opportunities and beneficiaries restoring their livelihoods through their employees in various workshops.

The importance of the project comes that it works to employ women from the Syrian society, especially from the displaced families from Damascus countryside in order to provide a job opportunity for them, in addition that the production in these workshops is not commercial at all, its goal is to distribute the production of these workshops to the needy and displaced families affected.
