
A meeting was held between the Minister of Energy, Eng. Mohammed Al-Bashir and several representatives of humanitarian organizations to discuss the current state of the water sector and the challenges facing this vital resource. The discussions focused on strengthening coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and relevant organizations to ensure the sustainability of water resources and improve their delivery to the areas most in need. The meeting also reviewed key technical and logistical difficulties hindering progress in this sector.
Among the attendees were Eng. Hisham Saad, Executive Director of the St. Ephrem Patriarchal Development Committee (EPDC), and Eng. Yamen Almoussa, Programs Manager at EPDC.
EPDC is a member of the Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) for the WASH Cluster and has long been committed to implementing WASH projects across Syria.
These efforts are vital in ensuring access to safe water sources, whether through Borehole and pump rehabilitation, installation of solar energy systems, or the renovation of school sanitation facilities. EPDC’s initiatives have had a significant impact on improving living conditions in various communities and cities throughout the country.
