Supporting small projects is one of the projects that provides support to beneficiaries of the EPDC, as these projects constitute the main source of income for the beneficiaries to achieve self-sufficiency, to support and provide decent living conditions for the Syrian person, and to enhance the level of family income.
The teams of the Saint Ephrem the Syrian Patriarchal Development Authority provided financial grants to the beneficiaries of the Small Enterprise Support Project, which numbered:
• 61 new small projects in the town of Arbin in the Damascus countryside.
• 40 small projects in Aleppo.
• 20 small projects in Daraa.
• In addition to a 4-day training course for the beneficiaries, which included studying and planning projects at all stages, from establishing the project until starting to implement it, to help them launch their business with deliberate and organized steps to reach the best results that achieve them, develop their experience and skills in managing their business and secure a continuous financial resource for their families.
• At the end of the course, the beneficiaries received a certificate of attendance at the training.
• Professions that were supported (community services: barber – hairdresser – mobile phone maintenance – sewing – carpentry – blacksmithing – shoe repair – handicrafts).
• Food (dairy and cheese industries – sweets – apple cider vinegar industry).
