Field Visits to Monitor the Progress of Humanitarian and Development Projects in Daraa Governorate

A team from WeWorld-GVC, accompanied by a team from the St. Ephrem Patriarchal Development Committee (EPDC), conducted field visits in Daraa Governorate to follow up on the implementation of ongoing humanitarian and development projects and to directly assess the needs of local communities.

In the town of Khabab, the visit included schools where psychosocial support activities and non-formal education sessions are being implemented, aiming to support children and enable them to continue their education in a safe and encouraging environment. The team also visited schools scheduled for rehabilitation, in addition to a well site that will be rehabilitated through the installation of a solar-powered system, with the aim of providing a clean, safe, and sustainable water source for the community, thereby improving living conditions and strengthening water security in the area.
The team also met with members of the local community to assess needs and priorities.

In Bosra Al-Sham, the team visited schools where project activities are being implemented, including psychosocial support and non-formal education. The children warmly welcomed the team wearing traditional clothing and presenting folk songs and dances that reflected the rich cultural heritage of Daraa Governorate. The visit also included schools planned for rehabilitation, particularly sanitation facilities, to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for children. In addition, meetings were held with members of the local community to listen to their needs and discuss the main challenges and difficulties they face.

The visit also included the Al-Sanamen District Directorate, where the team met with local officials to discuss potential cooperation and strengthen joint humanitarian and development efforts in the region.

These projects are implemented by the St. Ephrem Patriarchal Development Committee (EPDC), in partnership with WeWorld-GVC and funded by ECHO.
