Over the past years, some areas in Syria have faced great difficulty in securing water, whether for drinking or irrigation of agricultural lands, and the necessity of securing water for its essential role in sterilization operations has increased after the Corona pandemic.

Al-Hasakah is one of the Syrian cities most in need of water. EPDC supported the water, repair, and maintenance sector by rehabilitating a group of wells to benefit 113,000 people in the Al-Hasakah rural.

– Rehabilitation of Bir Akar Water well.
– Rehabilitation of Grizel Water well.
– Rehabilitation of the water network between the village of Mathloutha Al-Mahous and Mathloutha Al-Halj, with a length of 3.2 km.
– Rehabilitating the Tel Hamis water network and installing solar energy to supply it with electricity.

Delivery of drinking water for 245 families in Bir Akar and Grizel through batches of tankers.

Installation of a solar energy system for Zimrin Well – Daraa rural.

To create a suitable and safe environment for children to return to school and complete their education, the Authority implemented school restoration projects and school health facilities following “Sphere” protection standards and under the supervision of a specialized engineering team and in coordination with the Ministry of Education in the Syrian Arab Republic.
During 2023, 4 schools were renovated in Quneitra and Daraa
The restoration was accompanied by health awareness sessions on general hygiene and personal hygiene to help students acquire healthy habits necessary to maintain their health. The activities included interactive plays and dances on the importance of cleanliness, and health awareness sessions specifically for females.
In addition to distributing health rations to students, including hygiene tools and materials.
